You Don't Need to Have It All Figured Out.
Maybe you know exactly what needs to change.
Or maybe you just know that things aren't working anymore.
Either way, that's enough to start.
Every family is different, so my process is flexible. There's no set number of sessions and no one-size-fits-all plan.
We start with your family, your situation, and what you want to feel different.
First, I Meet With Each Parent.
I meet with each parent separately. This gives you space to speak openly, without worrying about what your partner thinks or needing to agree first.
I want to understand what family life feels like for you.
We talk about:
- What's hardest for you right now
- What keeps happening again and again
- What you've already tried
- How you see your parenting style
- Where you and your partner disagree
- What you'd most like to change
These talks help me understand each parent and start to see the patterns affecting the whole family.
Then We Meet as a Family.
When it makes sense, we meet together as a family.
This helps me see how you talk to each other, what happens in hard moments, where things get stuck, and what might be behind the conflict.
This isn't about deciding who's right or wrong.
It's about understanding what keeps happening, and helping your family find a better way.
Your Child Can Have Their Own Space Too.
Depending on your child's age and needs, I may also meet with your child or young adult on their own.
This is always optional and only happens when it will really help.
Having their own space can help a child or young adult share what they're going through, feel heard, build confidence, and learn skills that are hard to work on during a family conversation.
Then We Start Making Real Changes at Home.
Understanding the problem matters. But most families come to coaching because they want things to actually change.
So we turn what we've learned into practical steps you can use every day.
Depending on your family, we might work on:
- Talking things through without arguments blowing up
- Setting clear, consistent boundaries
- Pausing and responding instead of reacting
- Helping your child feel heard while you stay the parent
- Getting both parents on the same page
- Breaking patterns that lead to the same fights
- Building connection and trust
- Handling hard conversations in a new way
The goal isn't to leave thinking, "That was interesting."
The goal is to leave knowing what to do differently when you get home.
We Keep Practising Until It Feels Natural.
One good conversation won't undo a pattern that took years to build.
So we keep checking in on what's working, what isn't, what's hard to keep up, and what needs adjusting.
Over time, the new way of talking stops feeling like something you have to remember. It simply becomes how your family works.
We're not after a quick win.
We're building habits that last.
Let's Start With a Conversation.
Tell me what's happening at home, and we'll talk about whether this is the right fit for your family.
