Subconscious Mind vs Conscious
Sometimes, life feels incredibly challenging. We may find ourselves comparing ourselves to others, believing there's something wrong with us, and feeling isolated from those around us or from certain institutions.
It can often seem like external forces are dictating how we should behave, dress, and live, imposing their standards of what constitutes "real success." We might feel trapped in a system that perpetuates negative emotions, leading to a sense of alienation and loss of control.
This sense of powerlessness often stems from losing touch with our own minds, caught in a societal dream that continuously undermines our well-being. Understanding the difference between the conscious and subconscious mind can help us break free from this cycle and influence our lives in a peaceful and purposeful way.
The Conscious Mind
The conscious mind, associated with the prefrontal cortex, is our awareness center. It's where creativity and free will reside, allowing us to control our bodies and direct our focus. This part of the mind reflects our desires and dreams throughout our lives, communicating through thoughts, images, writing, speech, or physical actions. It's an active, creative component of our mental processes.
However, the challenge is that we are only aware of about 5-10% of our cognitive activity. This limited awareness can make us believe that others are responsible for our happiness or life direction. In reality, our lives are a reflection of the subconscious program running in the background.
The Subconscious Mind
The subconscious mind, the larger and more foundational part of the brain, operates constantly, and it is exponentially more powerful than the conscious mind. Unlike the conscious mind, it’s not creative but works with what it has learned from past experiences. Think of it as a tape recorder, replaying past experiences and shaping our behaviors, habits, and thoughts.
Around 90-95% of our daily actions and emotions are driven by this subconscious program. Our daily lives are often a repetition of the same emotions and thoughts. When we stop learning or growing, it’s not laziness but a form of stagnation that can feel like facing death for the first time.
I’m being direct because witnessing people destroy themselves through unhealthy behaviors and negative thinking is disheartening. I’ve been through these struggles myself- addiction, self-destruction, and emotional pain. I've learned that breaking free from these patterns is crucial for personal growth.
The subconscious mind is responsible for our memories, beliefs, and behaviors, essentially running the daily program that governs our lives. If a past program worked, the subconscious will try to replicate it, even if it’s harmful.
What sets people like Viktor Frankl and Nelson Mandela apart is their ability to maintain a positive perspective despite their circumstances. The key to transforming your life lies in the power of DECISION.
By learning to consciously focus on positive thoughts and using techniques like energy psychology (EFT, EMDR, PSYCH-K, etc.), we can alter our vibrational energy and influence our reality. Our thoughts and judgments connect not just to ourselves but to the world around us on an energetic level.
Using imagination and visualization can profoundly change your life at a deeper level. It’s not just about positive thinking but also about reprogramming your subconscious mind. While we sleep, our consciousness disconnects, entering a theta state where we can absorb new beliefs and adapt our mindset, much like when we were children.
By listening to affirmations or visualizations during sleep- focusing on happiness, success, love, financial goals, and gratitude- you can transform your life profoundly. Instead of battling your mind, you begin to work with it, creating happiness, health, love, and peace that others might find remarkable.
True intelligence is less about education or IQ and more about understanding yourself, clarifying your values, and learning how to reprogram your brain.
